After two decades of mastering her craft, Chef Kelly Fields wanted a place of her own to showcase her robust pastry expertise and passion for southern cuisine. This dream came true in August 2015 when she opened Willa Jean in New Orleans. Named after Chef Kelly’s grandmother, who inspired her to pursue her passion, the restaurant and bakery has gained notoriety for its playful and nostalgic menu that celebrates southern sensibilities with fresh, local ingredients.

Some recipes took her two years to perfect; she maniacally baked daily until she landed on this perfect balance. With that sort of dedication to her craft, it is no surprise that Chef Kelly won Outstanding Pastry Chef at the James Beard Awards in 2019.
