In 1812, Elijah Pepper began crafting Woodford’s first batch of whiskey in what has now become the heart of bourbon country. If you ever visit their distillery just outside of Louisville, take the tour and you will be rewarded generously with a delightfully rich treat from the bourbon gods: the famous bluegrass bourbon ball spiked with premium Woodford Reserve bourbon and enrobed in dark chocolate. This truly unique Kentucky treat has been a regional staple since the early 1900s and the recipe they use has stayed true to the original after all these years.
