Matthew's Pizza

Founded by Italian immigrant Matthew Cacciolo and his son Frank in Baltimore’s Highlandtown neighborhood way back in 1943, Matthew’s Pizza is a Baltimore landmark and the city’s oldest pizzeria. If you’ve never had Baltimore-style pizza, Matthew’s is the best place to experience it: the handmade crust is pressed into an oiled pan, and it bakes up thick, puffy, and almost focaccia-like, with a crunchy outer crust, bright & fresh tomato sauce, and a massive amount of stretchy, lightly browned cheese on top.
