The Bubble Room

If you’ve ever been to Captiva Island, a beachy, sunny paradise and vacation destination off the western coast of Florida, then you’ve most likely been to The Bubble Room. Going strong since 1979, there’s truly no other place like it: A kitschy, quirky, whimsical, family-friendly restaurant decked out floor-to-ceiling with vintage holiday decor, thousands of antiques, Christmas bubble lights, and even some old model trains chugging along above diners’ heads. Generations of locals and tourists alike have flocked there over the years for its fresh-made fare, signature cheesy bread, and scratch-baked cakes.

But in 2022, disaster struck. Hurricane Ian barreled through Captiva, severely damaging the restaurant. Over the next few years, the owners faithfully, carefully rebuilt the entire restaurant from scratch, and it reopened to much fanfare in July 2025. And now, for the first time, its most legendary cakes, from decadent Red Velvet to citrusy Orange Crunch to boozy Jamaican Rum, are shipping nationwide!
