What better way to celebrate long golden evenings, holiday gatherings, or a picnic by the coast than with cheeses that capture the unhurried nature of the season. Cowgirl Creamery’s signature organic triple-cream Mt Tam unfolds in layers of ripe crème fraîche and earthy forest mushrooms. It is joined by Wagon Wheel cheese, Seascape from Central Coast Creamery, and accompaniments to complete the collection.
Cowgirl Creamery makes cheese with heart. In 1997, they started with a dream shared between two college friends and business partners, Sue Conley and Peggy Smith: To celebrate organic practices and spotlight the craftsmanship of local sustainable agriculture in Marin and Sonoma counties. Today, they’re proud to be an icon in the industry, carrying the torch of the food revolution that started in their backyard. Organic. Farm-to-Table. Delicious, award-winning cheese. It’s in their DNA. And it defines their famous creations, including the beloved triple cream Mt Tam.
This package serves 8-10 people and includes
- Mt Tam – Cowgirl Creamery (7 oz.) – An organic American original cheese recipe, our best-selling cheese has all the lusciousness you expect from a triple cream with a unique heart that upholds its texture. Named after the iconic landmark Mount Tamalpais that rises over the San Francisco Bay in Marin Country, Mt Tam cheese is produced with organic, locally-sourced milk and rises above the standard for bloomy rind cheeses. Mt Tam takes you from fudgey firmness to buttery softness with flavors spanning from bright creme fraiche to complex and mushroomy, evoking the North Bay’s lush green and gold pastures.
- Wagon Wheel – Cowgirl Creamery (6 oz.) – Experience the liquid gold rush from the hills of San Francisco with Wagon Wheel, a versatile, snackable cheese at its glory when melted down and forged into your favorite meal. Born from the sunshine of California’s rolling golden hills, Wagon Wheel is our most versatile and snackable cheese. At room temperature, it’s approachable and delicious. When melted, we call it Liquid Gold. Designed by chefs for chefs (originally on Zuni Cafe’s pizza menu), Wagon Wheel is a washed rind cheese crafted from organic cow’s milk and aged for a minimum of 75 days.
- Seascape – Central Coast Creamery (6 oz.) – This cheddar-like Cow and Goat milk blend has a velvety paste that will have you coming back for more! The Seascape name is inspired by a luxury resort in the Central Coast town of Aptos. The browned-butter notes of the cow milk meet in perfect harmony with the tangy and fruity goat’s milk to warm you up from the inside like grandma’s baked goods.
- Cowgirl Creamery, Organic Crackers (6 oz.) – Our neighbors at Rustic Bakery craft these organic crackers just for us, made with sea salt, olive oil and sourdough starter.
- * Fra’Mani Italian Dry Salami* (2.5 oz.) – As classic as classic gets, this Italian Dry Salame is seasoned with sea salt, black pepper, garlic and white wine. It’s an all-around favorite of those who prefer the consistent and perfectly paper-thin slices done for them.
- La Saison Almonds (4 oz.) – They slow roast their Northern California almonds with extra virgin olive oil, a hint of hickory smoked sea salt and Herbes de Provence.

To Serve
- Remove your cheese from the refrigerator at least an hour before serving, unwrap it, and place it on a cheese board or butcher paper.
- Cover with an inverted bowl. This allows the cheese to breathe and protect it while it comes to room temperature.
There is Mold on My Cheese!
- Traditional cheeses are often made with natural rinds that display a variety of colorful molds and bumpy textures. These rinds protect the cheese as it ages while contributing to its unique flavor profile.
- Bacteria and mold are essential components of cheese. When cut and wrapped, molds and surface oils can develop on the face of the cheese. Simply scrape the surface with a knife to remove before serving.
