Spring Cheese Collection

Cowgirl Creamery’s Spring Collection captures the very best of California artisan makers. It begins with Mt Tam, an organic triple cream cheese. Alongside it is Hop Along, a cider-washed award-winning cheese brimming with notes of brioche, yogurt, and roasted nuts. Completing the trio is Point Reyes TomaRashi, a bold, West Coast expression that blends gentle heat, savory umami, and nutty depth for a modern, vibrant flourish. The collection is completed with a bright, sweet apricot jam, Cowgirl Creamery crackers, and buttery vanilla shortbread cookies for a touch of simple indulgence.

Cowgirl Creamery makes cheese with heart. In 1997, they started with a dream shared between two college friends and business partners, Sue Conley and Peggy Smith: To celebrate organic practices and spotlight the craftsmanship of local sustainable agriculture in Marin and Sonoma counties. Today, they’re proud to be an icon in the industry, carrying the torch of the food revolution that started in their backyard. Organic. Farm-to-Table. Delicious, award-winning cheese. It’s in their DNA. And it defines their famous creations, including the beloved triple cream Mt Tam.

This package serves 8-10 people and includes 1 Spring Cheese Collection

Cheese Flavors Include

  • 1 Mt Tam Cheese (7 oz.) – An organic American original cheese recipe, this best-selling cheese has all the lusciousness you expect from a triple cream with a unique heart that upholds its texture. Named after the iconic landmark Mount Tamalpais that rises over the San Francisco Bay in Marin Country, Mt Tam cheese is produced with organic, locally-sourced milk and rises above the standard for bloomy rind cheeses. Mt Tam takes you from fudgy firmness to buttery softness with flavors spanning from bright crème fraiche to complex and mushroomy, evoking the North Bay’s lush green and gold pastures.
  • 1 Hop Along Cheese (6 oz.) – A snackable organic cheese under the influence of hard cider. After 45 days of aging, this washed rind cheese develops aromas of apple and brioche and a silky, semi-firm interior. Hop Along is a versatile and approachable option for both cheese novices and experts and easily pairs with a variety of snacks (cured meats, preserved and fresh fruits, nuts) and beverages (kombucha & hard cider).
  • 1 TomaRashi Cheese (6 oz.) – The rich texture and buttery flavor that makes Toma a true American Original blended with heat, umami, and nutty flavors. The key to the flavor is Shichimi Togarashi, a Japanese spice blend containing chili flakes, nigella, chili powder, orange peel, ginger powder and nori. The result is a gentle heat that warms your palate gradually, making you want more.

Accompaniments Include

  • 1 pack Cowgirl Crackers (6 oz.) – Rustic Bakery craft these organic crackers just for Cowgirl Creamery, made with sea salt, olive oil, and sourdough starter.
  • 1 pack Vanilla Bean Shortbread Cookies (4 oz.) – This tender, buttery shortbread is enriched with the elegant flavor of Madagascar vanilla bean.
  • 1 jar Blenheim Apricot Jam (9 oz.) – Bright, beautifully ripe apricot flavor shines in this silky jam made without pectin for an authentically smooth, fruit-forward result.
  • Vanilla Bean Shortbread Cookies measure approx. 3″ × 3″ × 2″
  • Cheeses ship with gel packs, gel packs may thaw in transit.
  • Expect cheese to arrive at room temperature.
  • Upon arrival, please refrigerate.
  • Cheese is stable at room temperature, however, it is best stored in the refrigerator.
  • For optimum enjoyment, please enjoy your cheese within 1-2 weeks. Soft cheeses should be enjoyed sooner.

To Serve

  • Remove your cheese from the refrigerator at least an hour before serving, unwrap it, and place it on a cheese board or butcher paper.
  • Cover with an inverted bowl. This allows the cheese to breathe and protect it while it comes to room temperature.

There is Mold on My Cheese!

  • Traditional cheeses are often made with natural rinds that display a variety of colorful molds and bumpy textures. These rinds protect the cheese as it ages while contributing to its unique flavor profile.
  • Bacteria and mold are essential components of cheese. When cut and wrapped, molds and surface oils can develop on the face of the cheese. Simply scrape the surface with a knife to remove before serving.
