Sue Conley and Peggy Smith founded Cowgirl Creamery in the early 1990s, with the mission to help West Marin’s farms and dairies get their delicious products into the hands of the finest local chefs. Nearly 30 years later, Cowgirl Creamery is an icon in the industry. In 2010, Sue and Peggy were inducted into the prestigious Guilde des Fromagers. They have both also received James Beard Awards for "significant and lasting achievements and contributions to the food and beverage industry for ten or more years.

Cowgirl Creamery’s Mt Tam cheese is produced with organic, locally sourced milk and rises above the standard for bloomy rind cheeses. Mt Tam takes you from fudgy firmness to buttery softness with flavors spanning from bright creme fraiche to complex and mushroomy, evoking the North Bay’s lush green and gold pastures. - 6 oz. Wagon Wheel – Experience the liquid gold rush from the hills of San Francisco with Wagon Wheel, a versatile, snackable cheese at its glory when melted down and forged into your favorite meal. Born from the sunshine of California’s rolling golden hills, Wagon Wheel is our most versatile and snackable cheese. At room temperature, it’s approachable and delicious. When melted, we call it Liquid Gold. Designed by chefs for chefs (originally on Zuni Cafe’s pizza menu), Wagon Wheel is a washed rind cheese crafted from organic cow’s milk and aged for a minimum of 75 days.

Red Hawk is for the bold, conveying the character of coastal Northern California. Beyond its rough and rowdy aroma, this cheese has a rich and meaty flavor with balanced notes of cured meats, wild sage, and a kiss of ocean air.
