Yes, this cake is COMPLETELY VEGAN! It’s an ultra-moist spice cake with the perfect balance of organic golden raisins, pineapples, and freshly grated carrots, and it’s topped with vegan cream cheese frosting. Even non-vegans rave about the taste and quality of this cake!

Since she was a child, Detroit native April Anderson knew that she wanted to be a baker. She teamed up with her wife Michelle and opened Good Cakes & Bakes in Detroit in 2013. Good Cakes & Bakes uses only the freshest natural ingredients, including locally-grown produce, in its wholesome, organic Southern-inspired baked goods like lemon velvet, red velvet, and vegan carrot cakes. April Anderson has been featured as a “Changemaker Chef to Watch” by the James Beard Foundation and has baked for Oprah Winfrey.

Ingredients

Organic Flour, Organic Cane Sugar, Shredded Carrots, Canola Oil, Flax Seeds, Cinnamon Spice, Nutmeg Spice, Baking Soda, Golden Raisins, Organic Vanilla Extract, Orange Extract, Lemon Extract And Kosher Salt. Icing: Vegan Butter, Powdered Sugar, And Vegan Cream Cheese. Walnuts Topping.

Instructions / Storage

  • Cakes ship frozen with dry ice.
  • Dry ice may dissipate in transit, product may thaw (if cake arrives defrosted, it is safe to enjoy as is).
  • Do not remove dry ice with bare hands.
  • Upon arrival, store cakes at room temperature, in the refrigerator, or in the freezer.
  • Cakes last up to 3 days at room temperature, up to 1 week in the refrigerator, or up to 3 months in the freezer.

To Serve

  • If frozen, allow cake to thaw at room temperature for up to 1 hour or thaw in the refrigerator overnight.
  • Slice, serve, and enjoy!

Loved, loved, loved that I found this extremely delicious organic german chocolate cake for my birthday that I would normally make for myself, which would take approximately 4 hours start to finish. The delicious cake tasted exactly how I make mine every year. The cake texture was moist and perfectly chocolatey, and the icing was perfectly textured and not super sweet, just like I make mine! The packaging was top notch. It came frozen and completely intact. I followed the provided instructions. It arrived the afternoon of my birthday, which was perfect for leaving on the counter for several hours before serving after my birthday dinner. We will definitely be repeat customers for sure! Oh, and after slicing the leftovers to freeze, there was about 1.5 cups of crumbs and icing leftover, so we use it as a topper for our favorite Yonanas frozen banana dessert.. the best combination with this cake for sure!
