100 Extreme Heat Buffalo Wings

In 1964, Teressa Bellissimo deep-fried a batch of chicken wings behind the bar she and her husband Frank had run in Buffalo since 1935, tossed them in a spiced sauce, and invented an American icon. This pack piles up 100 of those wings alongside a 12 oz. bottle of Extreme Heat sauce, the hottest in the lineup, for the version regulars order when medium won’t do. It’s the recipe that earned Anchor Bar the James Beard Foundation’s America’s Classics award in 2003. Perfect for a Bills game watch party, a spice-chaser bet among friends, or restocking the freezer before playoff season.

This package serves 10-14 people and includes

  • 100 Extreme Heat Buffalo Wings
  • Heat level goes from Medium, Hotter to Extreme Heat
  • Choose to add Extreme Heat Wing Sauce (12 oz.)!
  • Wings are fully cooked, flash frozen and shipped with ice packs
  • Upon arrival, place in the refrigerator for up to 5 days or in the freezer for up to 6 weeks

Sicilian immigrants Frank and Teressa Bellissimo opened Anchor Bar in 1935 in Buffalo, NY. Now a fixture in the community, Anchor Bar’s claim to fame is also Buffalo’s: the sacred Buffalo wing. Invented one fateful night in 1964, Anchor Bar completely transformed the American diet with just hot sauce, butter and some chicken wings. After a long shift tending bar, Dominic, the owners’ son, and his friends were looking for the perfect finger food as they sat around the bar. Teressa, who had extra chicken wings in the back, deep fried the wings, tossed them in buttery cayenne pepper sauce and served them with celery sticks and blue cheese dressing.

They say in this life you’re either right wing, left wing or Buffalo wing.
