Family owned-and-operated since its founding by Nina & Edd Hendee in 1977, the legendary Houston steakhouse is one of the largest independent restaurants in the country – and it serves up more Certified Angus Beef than any other single restaurant worldwide. All of the Heritage Angus cattle are carefully selected from local family ranches, and each steak is aged for 40 days in a state-of-the-art facility before being carefully trimmed of all extraneous fat. Perfect for the grill, these steaks really are a true taste of Texas – and they’re shipping straight from the Lone Star State to your door!
This package serves 12 people and includes
- 12 Angus Burger Patties (each 8 oz.) – Juicy, flavorful, and handcrafted to perfection, these burgers are ready to be the centerpiece of your game-day spread.
- 12 skewers Texas Bacon-Wrapped Quail Bites – A true Texas delicacy, these bite-sized treats are bursting with rich, smoky flavor that’s sure to impress.
- 1 tin Black Pepper Seasoned Salt with Maldon – Elevate every bite with this blend of bold black pepper and delicate Maldon sea salt flakes, perfect for enhancing steaks, burgers, and more.
- 12 Asiago Cheese Rolls
- Tailgate box ships with dry ice, may thaw in transit.
- Do not remove dry ice with bare hands.
- Upon arrival, store in the refrigerator or freezer.
- Thaw burger patties and quail bites in the refrigerator for 24 to 48 hours before grilling.
- Keep cheese rolls frozen until ready to bake.
- Tailgate box will last up to 1 week in the refrigerator and up to 6 months in the freezer.
To Serve
Angus Burger Patties
- Season your burgers with the Black Pepper Seasoned Salt with Maldon.
- Turn on your grill on high and burn off any residue.
- Reduce the flame and clean your grill vigorously with a stiff grill brush.
- Before grilling, apply a generous coat of vegetable oil with a clean rag with tongs or heavy-duty grill spray.
- Adjust your grill flame to medium/medium-high.
- Grill the burgers 3 to 4 minutes each side until the internal temperature reaches 140 to 150℉.
- Serve and enjoy!
Quail Bites
- We recommend grilling the quail skewers on heavy foil folded up at the sides to prevent flare ups. This gives the quail a nice flavor and crisps up the bacon.
- Grill over medium-high heat until the quail feels firm (internal temperature of 165°F), and the bacon is crispy on both sides, approx. 12 minutes.
- Serve and enjoy!
Asiago Cheese Rolls
- Preheat oven to 350°F.
- Remove bread from plastic bag and place on a baking sheet.
- Bake for 10 minutes, until golden brown.
