In 2014, artisan baker Rich Labriola opened the first Stan’s Donuts & Coffee in Chicago, inspired by his friendship and partnership with Stan Berman, founder of the iconic Los Angeles donut shop. Today, there are 30 Stan’s Donuts & Coffee locations in the Chicago area, and Stan’s has been named the best donut shop in Chicago by numerous media outlets.
Labriola, regarded as one of Chicago’s premier artisan bakers, introduced Stan’s San Francisco Sourdough in 2023. Every loaf reflects his commitment to quality with a 48-hour starter, long fermentation, natural ingredients, and hearth oven baking. It marks a return to Rich’s baking roots and continues to elevate Stan’s reputation for exceptional products.
