Home of "The Deli Guy," NJ's Sandwich Legend
Parkwood Deli, Midland Park, New Jersey, and its signature crispy chicken cutlets and saucy chicken parm sandwiches are rooted in decades of family tradition. Opened in 1987 by 23-year-old Roger with his parents, Lucille and Roger Sr., this neighborhood deli grew from homemade recipes, long hours, and a commitment to doing things the old-fashioned way, later moving to its longtime home on Erie Avenue.
At 85, Lucille still leads the kitchen, preparing scratch-made red sauce, vodka sauce, meatballs, and more from recipes passed down through generations. A true three-generation operation, Parkwood has also gained a national following through Roger—“The Deli Guy”—and his son, bringing their energy and beloved dishes to fans everywhere, now shipped nationwide on Goldbelly.
