Made the old-world way with fermented rye and whole grains, these dense, hearty breads are rich in flavor and texture. The Soft Grain Rye is nutty and chewy, packed with seeds and perfect for open-faced sandwiches. The Carrot Rye adds a subtle sweetness with shredded carrots baked right into the loaf. Back in the early 1990s, Danish bakers Ole Kristoffersen and Steen Skallebaek each opened their own bakeries, achieving renown in their home country of Denmark. In 2008, the duo joined forces and opened Ole & Steen, which quickly gained a loyal following by pioneering a resurgence of artisanal, handcrafted baking practices. Today, the bakery has locations in Denmark, England, and New York City, and has become legendary for its authentic Danish breads and pastries made from carefully sourced, whole ingredients, handcrafted with care.

- Upon arrival, store bread at room temperature for up to 5 days, in the refrigerator for up to 14 days or keep frozen for up to 2 months.
- Store chips in original airtight packaging at room temperature for up to 30 days.
- Store granola in original airtight packaging at room temperature for up to 2 weeks. To store longer, keep frozen in airtight packaging for up to 2 months.
- Store rolls in their original packaging at room temperature for up to 5 days. To store longer, keep refrigerated for up to 14 days or wrap in aluminum foil and freeze for up to 2 months.
- Store cookies in original airtight packaging at room temperature for up to 14 days.
- Store bites at room temperature for up to 3 days, or keep frozen for up to 30 days.
To Serve
Rye Bread
- If frozen, allow to thaw on the counter for 1-2 hours.
- Preheat oven to warm in a 350°F.
- Warm for 5–8 minutes or toast to your desired level.

Outside of its native Denmark it was renamed Ole & Steen.
Today, the bakery has locations in Denmark, England, and New York City, and has become legendary for its authentic Danish breads and pastries as well as its sleek, inviting spaces with that distinctively Danish sense of “hygge” and hospitality.
