Malu’s Foods is a Colombian family-owned Atlanta company whose story began in 2017 when the family sold empanadas to fund cardiac surgery for daughter Maria Lucia (Malu), who has Williams Syndrome. Chef Erika, the Mother-in-Chief, runs the kitchen. Colombian-Style Cheese Corn Empanadas — 24 Pack: crispy, golden corn dough — naturally gluten-free — filled with melted Colombian-style cheese. 24 empanadas from the Atlanta family whose mission is baked into every one.

This package serves 6-8 people and includes 24 Cheese Corn Empanadas

  • Each Empanada weighs approx. 2.75 oz. and measures 4.5" to 1.8"
  • Empanadas ship frozen with dry ice
  • Dry ice may dissipate in transit
  • Do not remove dry ice with bare hands
  • Upon arrival, place empanadas in the freezer for up to 12 months
  • Do not thaw empanadas; prepare empanadas fully frozen

To Serve
Air Fryer

  • Pre-heat the air fry at 400°F
  • Arrange empanadas in a single layer (do not overcrowd)
  • Heat for 20-25 minutes, or until desired level of crispiness
    • NOTE: For cheese empanadas, air fry for no more than 10 minutes or dough will rupture
  • Ensure internal temperature reaches 165°F
  • Remove, serve and enjoy!

Oven

  • Preheat oven to 400°F.
  • Arrange empanadas in a single layer on a baking sheet (do not overcrowd)
  • Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until desired level of crispiness
    • NOTE: For cheese empanadas, bake for no more than 10 minutes or dough will rupture
  • Ensure internal temperature reaches 165°F
  • Remove, serve and enjoy!

Deep Fry

  • Pre-heat oil to 400°F
  • Place frozen empanadas in fryer and lower temperature to 375°F
  • Cook for approximately 10 minutes, or until desired level of crispiness.
    • NOTE: For cheese empanadas, deep fry for no more than 6 minutes or dough will rupture
  • Ensure internal temperature reaches 165°F
  • Remove, serve and enjoy!
