Albacore Tuna

Individually caught in the southernmost region of British Columbia, Albacore Tuna is our favorite choice in the Tuna family. Voted a ""Best Choice"" option by Seafood Watch, albacore populations are healthy and well-managed. 

Tasting notes: This tuna has a firm, buttery texture and rich flavor. Its extra fattiness makes it a good option for grilling and searing.

How they’re fished: Fished using trollers, a series of lures towed slowly behind the boat, this is a more eco-friendly type of fishing that cuts down on bycatch.

Where they’re caught: Individually caught and processed on small day boats in southern British Columbia.

  • Fish ships cold with ice packs and should be refrigerated immediately upon arrival.
  • Use within 5 days of the “packed on” date found on the product label.
  • Fresh fish can be refrozen for later use. Previously frozen fish should not be refrozen — check your label for specifics.
