The Christmas Stollen, also know as Christollen, was introduced to holiday celebrations in 13th century Germany. The bundle shape of the loaf with a covering of powdered sugar is symbolic of The Christ Child wrapped in swaddling clothes. Edgar’s Stollen is a delicious sweet bread filled with rum soaked cranberries, raisins and golden raisins, combined with a luscious almond marzipan and then coated with powdered sugar.
