Cowgirl Creamery makes cheese with heart. In 1997, they started with a dream shared between two college friends and business partners, Sue Conley and Peggy Smith: To celebrate organic practices and spotlight the craftsmanship of local sustainable agriculture in Marin and Sonoma counties. Today, they’re proud to be an icon in the industry, carrying the torch of the food revolution that started in their backyard. Organic. Farm-to-Table. Delicious, award-winning cheese. It’s in their DNA. And it defines their famous creations, including the beloved triple cream Mt Tam.
This package serves 10-12 people and includes 3 Signature Cheeses plus more
- Meyer Lemon & Honey (4 oz.) – Meyer Lemon & Honey blends floral Meyer lemon and subtly sweet alfalfa honey into fresh, tangy goat cheese for a flavor that’s bright, balanced, and irresistibly smooth. Made with the highest quality goat milk and thoughtfully sourced ingredients, this cheese is a little sweet, a little citrusy, and completely delightful
- Mt Tam (approx. 7 oz.) – An organic American original cheese recipe, Cowgirl Creamery’s best-selling cheese has all the lusciousness you expect from a triple cream with a unique heart that upholds its texture. Named after the iconic landmark Mount Tamalpais that rises over the San Francisco Bay in Marin Country, Mt Tam cheese is produced with organic, locally-sourced milk and rises above the standard for bloomy rind cheeses. Mt Tam takes you from fudgy firmness to buttery softness with flavors spanning from bright creme fraiche to complex and mushroomy, evoking the North Bay’s lush green and gold pastures
- Red Hawk (6 oz.) – Named for the majestic local red-tailed hawk that soars over the Marin Headlands, Red Hawk is a washed rind triple cream made with organic, locally sourced milk. Red Hawk is for the bold, conveying the character of coastal Northern California. Beyond its rough and rowdy aroma, this cheese has a rich and meaty flavor with balanced notes of cured meats, wild sage, and a kiss of ocean air
- Cornichons (10.9 oz.) – French-style gherkins pickled in vinegar and spiced the Artisanal way
- Cowgirl Crackers (6 oz.) – Cowgirl Creamery’s neighbors at Rustic Bakery craft these organic crackers just for them, made with sea salt, olive oil and sourdough starter
- Prosciutto (3 oz.) – This sweet ham is cured in the town of Langhirano, Italy, by the family-owned and operated Pio Tosini company, which is one of the most credible and sought-after producers of Prosciutto di Parma and has been in operation for over 80 years. Pio Tosini is known for remaining true to the quality and authenticity of the curing tradition

To Serve
- Remove your cheese from the refrigerator at least an hour before serving, unwrap it, and place it on a cheese board or butcher paper.
- Cover with an inverted bowl. This allows the cheese to breathe and protect it while it comes to room temperature.
There is Mold on My Cheese!
- Traditional cheeses are often made with natural rinds that display a variety of colorful molds and bumpy textures. These rinds protect the cheese as it ages while contributing to its unique flavor profile.
- Bacteria and mold are essential components of cheese. When cut and wrapped, molds and surface oils can develop on the face of the cheese. Simply scrape the surface with a knife to remove before serving.
