Featuring Barney Greengrass’s famous, “secret menu” potato latkes and fixings, show-stopping Eastern Nova salmon, world-renowned whitefish salad, plenty of bagels and cream cheese, and delectable assorted rugelach for dessert, you’ll go down in holiday history with this gift pack!
When Barney Greengrass first opened his smoked fish (“appetizing”) store in Harlem in 1908, his mission was simple: to create a “food store for those who demand the best.” In 1929 Barney moved his much-beloved shop to its present home on the Upper West Side. His customers followed, his popularity grew, and soon all of New York knew him as “The Sturgeon King.” Two generations later, Barney Greengrass continues to cater to “those who demand the best,” under the meticulous guidance of Barney’s grandson, Gary. In addition to looking much the same as it did back in Barney’s day, the iconic shop and restaurant has become a one-of-a-kind destination for smoked fish and deli lovers from across the globe. The Greengrass family’s commitment to serving the finest classic New York fare has earned Barney Greengrass countless accolades, including an American Classic Award from the James Beard Foundation in 2006.
