Alaskan Kelp Gift Box

This gift set comes in a beautiful custom wooden box and includes Barnacle Foods’ best selling Alaskan delicacies. These foods showcase the flavors of Alaska’s wild coastline, with hot sauce, salsa, and pickles made from Alaskan bull kelp. The Spruce Tip Jelly is made from early spring buds of the Sitka Spruce tree, with a sappy, citral, and fresh flavor. Alaskan kelp provides deep umami savoriness to this unforgettable taste experience. Your friends and family will love trying these mouthwatering pantry staples from Alaska’s coast!

Kelp is abundant in Alaskan waters. A type of seaweed, it’s deliciously briny and savory, sustainable, and packed with vitamins, minerals, fiber, and iodine. Barnacle Foods founders Matt Kern and Lia Heifetz began collecting bull kelp while on their way home from fishing trips, and in 2016 they founded Barnacle Foods to share their recipes — inspired by recipes from some of the original coastal Alaskan homesteaders — with the public.

The Alaskan Kelp Gift Box includes:

  • Dill Kelp Pickles (1 lb, 2.3 oz)
  • Bullwhip Hot Sauce (10 oz)
  • Original Salsa (1 lb, 2 oz)
  • Spruce Tip Jelly (9 oz)

Arrives in a beautiful wooden box, perfect for a gift!

  • Items ship without coolant and arrive ready to enjoy
  • Each jar can be used for multiple occasions and is shelf-stable for longer-term storage. But we think you’ll want to crack them and enjoy them right away.

Kelp is abundant in Alaskan waters. A type of seaweed, it’s deliciously briny and savory, sustainable, and packed with vitamins, minerals, fiber, and iodine. Barnacle Foods founders Matt Kern and Lia Heifetz began collecting bull kelp while on their way home from fishing trips, and their handmade kelp salsas and kelp pickles were so popular with their friends that in 2016 they founded Barnacle Foods to share these recipes — inspired by recipes from some of the original coastal Alaskan homesteaders — with the public.

If you’ve never given much thought to edible seaweed beyond what’s wrapping up your sushi, then you’re in for a serious treat with Barnacle Foods. Kelp is one of Alaska’s best-kept culinary secrets, and these pickles, salsas, and seasonings are a true taste of the wild Alaskan coastline.
