96%Read ReviewsHeat & Eat
Double the pastrami, enough #19 to feed four: Langer’s hand-cut pastrami, creamy house-made coleslaw, Russian dressing, and Swiss on double-baked rye from nearby Fred’s Bakery. It’s the sandwich Los Angeles calls the best in town, sized for the whole table. Al Langer started with 12 seats in 1947, and son Norm carries on the tradition at this James Beard American Classic. - Remove Pastrami from the plastic bag, leaving it in the original paper, and place it in the center of the oven.
- Heat at normal temperature for 90 seconds.
- Remove it and allow it to stand for two minutes (standing time), still wrapped.
- If it does not feel warm enough, repeat the process in 30-second intervals until you feel it is warm
to your touch. - DO NOT OVERHEAT as it will burn and dry out the Pastrami.
STANDARD OVEN HEATING
- Remove Pastrami from all packaging and wrap loosely in tin foil.
- Place it on a pan and put it in a preheated 350-degree oven for approximately 5 minutes.
- Place a cup of water inside the oven to prevent drying.
- Because each oven has hot spots, check it frequently.
- Additional heating instructions included with each package
The Official Pastrami Sandwich of Los Angeles

To say that Langer’s Deli is a Los Angeles landmark would be an understatement. Founded by Al and Jean Langer as a 12-seat lunch counter in 1947, it proved to be so popular that over the years it’s expanded more than tenfold in size, becoming one of LA’s most renowned and venerable restaurants along the way, and being named a James Beard American Classic as well as a Michelin Guide Bib Gourmand honoree.
All of Langer's classic deli meats are still made just like they were all those decades ago, and their signature creation – the #19 Sandwich, stacked with pastrami, coleslaw, Swiss cheese, and Russian dressing – has rightfully claimed the crown of one of the single greatest sandwiches on earth. This is is good as it gets, and it's all shipping nationwide!
