In 1893, two Austrian-Hungarian immigrants, Emil Reichl and Samuel Ladany, debuted their Vienna Beef hot dog at Chicago’s World’s Columbian Exposition, and the rest is hot dog history. Reichel and Ladany opened their first hot dog store in Chicago’s Near West Side in 1894. In 1982, Jim Eisenberg and Jim Bodman took over, heralding a new chapter for Vienna Beef Hot Dogs. Fiercely prideful of America’s most popular sausage, Chicagoans are downright religious when it comes to Chicago hot dogs: about 700,000 are made daily at the Vienna Beef headquarters to supply the 1,800+ local Chicago hot dog vendors who sell Chicago-style hot dogs (each can attend Hot Dog University to learn the basics of the business), ‘cuz a dog just ain’t a dog made any other way.

I couldn't decide what to get. What's better to celebrate National Hot dog Month in July than Vienna Beef hot dogs which have been around forever. They are still the same great quality that they have always been throughout the years. This was the Chicago kit which is truly a meal on a bun. The Chicago hot dog is one of the classics. Very tasty. We were able to serve authentic Chicago Style Hot Dogs with your kits. They arrived in time as projected and the quality was excellent. We had 24 tailgaters for the Northern Illinois football game against Michigan in Ann Arbor. Only a couple had experienced the Chicago Style Hot Dog. They questioned where we received the whole package and we advised Goldbelly.

The packaging was phenomenal. I received the food almost totally frozen. The ice packs were 3/4 way still frozen. The hot dogs and beef and gravy took me back to when I still lived in Chicago.
