Technically a cake, it was created at Boston’s Omni Parker House Hotel in 1856 by pastry chef Augustine Anezin, and the hotel has served the original version in its restaurant for more than 165 years. Perfect for a birthday with Boston roots, a dinner party dessert, or anyone who has only had the grocery-store imitations. The original, still served where it was born.
