Sweet & Sour Michigan Cherries Combo - 6 lbs

Hand-picked at the perfect level of ripeness from glacial hills overlooking Lake Michigan on Wunsch’s sixth-generation family farm, these are the most delicious cherries you will taste all summer. Northwest Michigan’s exceptional growing climate and conditions allow us to present firm, ripe cherries with a robust cherry flavor. This combination of 3 lb. box contains sweet dark cherries, well-known for their deep color, sweetness, and rich cherry flavor, and a 3 lb box of Balaton cherries, whose robust, sweet-tart flavor and intense red color make it the best tart cherries for pies, pastries, jams, jellies, or sauces. Both types of these juicy cherries are a delight!

Michigan’s unique climate and growing conditions produce the most delicious cherries in the world, and the Wunsch Family Farms in Traverse City, Michigan, has six generations of experience cultivating sweet Ulster and sour Balaton Michigan cherries. The farm, on Northern Michigan’s Old Mission Peninsula, is run by brother and sister Isaiah and Adele Wunsch, in the “cherry capital of the world.” Unique growing conditions from northern Lake Michigan provide cool air currents, a microclimate with cool springs, dry summers and long, warm falls to produce tree-ripened cherries, which get packed just hours after being picked, so they’re perfectly ripe, firm, dark, and flavorful.

This package includes

  • Ulster Cherries (3 lbs.)
  • Balaton Cherries (3 lbs.)
  • Cherries arrive stemless, which prolongs the freshness of the fruit

Unfortunately due to Arizona and California agriculture laws, Wunsch Family Farm is unable to ship cherries to these states. Any orders shipping to these states will be canceled and refunded.

Michigan's unique climate and growing conditions produce the most delicious cherries in the world, and the Wunsch Family Farms has 6 generations of experience cultivating them. The farm, on Northern Michigan's Old Mission Peninsula, is run by brother and sister Isaiah and Adele Wunsch, in the "cherry capital of the world."

Unique growing conditions from northern Lake Michigan provide cool air currents, a microclimate with cool springs, dry summers and long, warm falls to produce tree-ripened cherries, which get packed just hours after being picked, so they're perfectly ripe, firmer, darker and flavorful. The cherries are cooled, but not washed, to extend the shelf life without losing flavor.

The Wunsch family farms two kinds of cherries - Ulsters (Sweet) and Balatons (sour), whose season starts a bit later in the summer. The season for both is short, ending by September normally, and supply is limited and coveted!
