The Virginia Diner opened in 1929 as a refurbished railroad dining car along a dusty highway in southeastern Virginia. Established in the heart of Virginia peanut country, it was only natural that Virginia peanuts ended up on the menu. Word spread fast, and soon travelers passing through requested to buy and send Virginia peanuts to their friends, family, and even as business gifts. Virginia Diner’s peanuts just might be the most delicious on earth, but today they’re just the tip of the iceberg. All these years later, Virginia Diner is committed to delivering the highest quality peanuts and comfort foods with plenty of Southern hospitality.
