Emil Reichl and Samuel Ladany, two Austrian-Hungarian immigrants, debuted their Vienna Beef hot dog at the World’s Columbian Exposition in 1893, and the rest is hot dog history. In 1894, Reichl and Ladany opened their first hot dog store in Chicago. In 1982, Jim Eisenberg and Jim Bodman took over, heralding a new chapter for Vienna Beef Hot Dogs.
