Two quarts of Veselka soup, your pick of Ukrainian borscht, chicken noodle, matzoh ball, mushroom barley, or vegetarian borscht. It’s a quick way to bring the East Village diner’s old-world cooking home. Veselka has simmered these same recipes since Ukrainian refugees Wolodymyr and Olha Darmochwal founded it in 1954. Comfort by the quart, from one of New York’s best 24-hour diners.

- Chicken Noodle Soup – Chicken broth with egg noodles, shredded chicken and vegetables.
- Matzoh Ball Soup – Chicken broth with Matzoh dumplings.
- Mushroom Barley Soup – Creamy mushroom and vegetable soup.

- Each potato pancake weighs approx. 4 oz.
- Fried Onions – 4 oz.
- Beet & Horseradish Salad – 1 pt.
- Sauerkraut – 1 pt.
- Spicy Brown Mustard – 4 oz.
- Soup ships frozen with ice packs, may thaw in transit.
- Upon arrival, store in the refrigerator for up to 5 days or in the freezer for up to 3 months.
To Serve
Soup
- Pour the soup in a pot and reheat on the stove. Do not microwave in the container provided
- Serve and enjoy!
Potato Pancake – Add On
- Preheat oven to 400°F.
- Place frozen pancakes on an ungreased sheet pan.
- Place in oven and bake for approx. 20-25 minutes, flipping the potato pancakes after the first 10 minutes.
- Serve and enjoy!
Pierogis – Add On
- Allow pierogi to defrost completely and cook in salted boiling water for 3-4 minutes.
- Optional: After boiling, pan-fry pierogis in butter until golden brown.
