Veselka has been an institution in the East Village since opening in 1954. Founded by Ukrainian refugees Wolodymyr and Olha Darmochwal, this 24-hour Ukranian restaurant is still family-owned and run today. Veselka has been featured in the New York Times, Serious Eats, London Times, and more, and their pierogi have been included in Eater’s “New York City’s 30 Most Iconic Dishes” and Thrillist’s “Most Important Food Dishes in NYC History.”

This package serves 2 people and includes your choice of 12 Pierogis

  • Each pierogi measures approx. 2"
  • Choose to add on 6 Potato Pancakes!
    • Each potato pancake weighs approx. 4 oz.

To Serve

Pierogis

  • Allow pierogi to defrost completely and cook in salted boiling water for 3-4 minutes.
  • Optional: After boiling, pan-fry pierogis in butter until golden brown.
  • Serve & enjoy!

Potato Pancake

  • Preheat oven to 400°F.
  • Place frozen pancakes on an ungreased sheet pan.
  • Place in oven and bake for approx. 20-25 minutes, flipping the potato pancakes after the first 10 minutes.
