The Original Minneapple Pie

The Original Minneapple Pie, the Rogers, Minnesota creation behind a deep-fried apple pie that became a Midwestern fair food phenomenon, was born in 2008 when Andy Atsidakos's children began experimenting with deep-frying individual apple pies in the Minne's Diner kitchen. Andy had arrived from a small farming village in Southern Greece in 1966 with $7; his wife Libby perfected the flaky crust that made the Minneapple Pie a fairground sensation at Target Field and the Minnesota State Fair.
