Some restrictions applyThis is The Duck Inn’s vegan take on the classic Italian beef sandwich that’s beloved all over Chicago. Organic beets from Midwestern farmers are slow roasted, sliced thin, and bathed in a mushroom-based umami jus flavored with garlic, basil, oregano, Calabrian chilies, and rosemary. You’ll also get Italian sub rolls baked on the south side of Chicago to pile your beets into and the classic accompaniments of sweet peppers and hot giardiniera. A little extra jus is included for dippin’!
The Duck Inn is a cozy, retro-inspired neighborhood gastro-tavern located on the border of Chicago’s booming Bridgeport and Pilsen neighborhoods, founded in 2014. At The Duck Inn, Chef Kevin Hickey and his team are serving up some seriously unique comfort foods, and it’s earned them legions of fans and accolades over the years: Hickey was named Chef of the Year by the Chicago Tribune in 2015 and the restaurant was named one of the country’s best new restaurants by Esquire!
