The entire Southern United States knows peach cobbler as not just a great dessert, but also a part of the culture of the region. Today, the whole country enjoys what used to be a regional dish. What makes this cobbler so delicious is the same attention to detail that was part of the original cobbler. This is a recipe handed down from generation to generation that contains fresh ripe peaches, a crumble crust, and fresh cinamon and nutmeg. Zolla Mae’s cobbler is about as good as it gets, and will please your family and guests with the taste of the Deep South.
Sky’s Gourmet Tacos is a Los Angeles institution, and its founder, Barbara Jean “Sky” Burrell, is an undeniable legend. She was the first African American hired by the Kroger’s supermarket chain, oversaw a staff of 200 at United Way, was on the board of The Watts Labor Action Committee, and was part of the team that introduced the first drive-thru for McDonald’s. But after all that, Sky decided to embrace her passion for food, and turned her attention to infusing the humble taco with a dose of Southern soul. Sky Taco was the result, and when it opened in 1992 it proved to be an overnight smash hit. Burrell has since opened a catering business and a gourmet market place, and has been showered with countless awards and accolades including a plaque from LA Mayor Eric Garcetti. But these are the tacos that started it all!

Sky’s Gourmet Tacos is a Los Angeles institution, and its founder, Barbara Jean “Sky” Burrell, is an undeniable legend. Before opening the first location of Sky’s in 1992, she was the first African American hired by the Kroger’s supermarket chain, earned a master’s degree in Strategic Business Management, trained as a cook, oversaw a staff of 200 at United Way, was on the board of The Watts Labor Action Committee, and was part of the team that introduced the first drive-thru for McDonald’s. But after all that, Sky decided to embrace her passion for food, and turned her attention to the humble taco, experimenting with infusing the Mexican creation with a dose of Southern soul. Sky Taco was the result, and it proved to be an overnight smash hit.
Sky’s signature shrimp taco was the one that put it on the map, bursting with fresh shrimp cooked in butter and a proprietary blend of secret spices. But other fillings including chicken, steak, carnitas, and potatoes are just as addictively delicious. Since opening Sky’s, Burrell has opened a catering business and a gourmet market place, and has been showered with countless awards and accolades including a plaque from LA Mayor Eric Garcetti. But these are the tacos that started it all, and they’re now available for nationwide delivery!
