Spread the rich crème fraîche on our homemade potato latke, and then cover just half with delicate and balanced Hackleback caviar to achieve that signature Black & White look! This set includes a 50-gram tin of Hackleback caviar, an 8 oz container of crème fraîche, and five potato latkes. (Latkes arrive fully cooked and ready to reheat in the oven.) An easy way to impress your guests at your next event!

This package includes

- Caviar should be kept refrigerated until five minutes before serving. Keep the tin closed and in the coolest part of your refrigerator, away from the light. Do not open it at all until just before serving.
- If stored in this way, caviar will stay in the average refrigerator for approximately two weeks.
- Once opened, caviar should be eaten and enjoyed immediately. Caviar should never be frozen.
- Creme Fraiche Should be stored in the refrigerator.
- Potato latkes are shipped fresh and fully cooked.
- Store latkes in the refrigerator upon arrival, may be kept refrigerated for up to 2 days.
- We recommend heating them in an oven before serving.
To Serve
Latkes
- Latkes are fully cooked, just heat to taste!
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
- Place latkes on a cookie sheet and bake for 8-10 minutes until center is warm.
To Assemble
- Spread Creme Fraiches over each latke.
- Spoon approximately 10 gm of caviar on one half of each latke.
- Enjoy!
Are Russ & Daughters’ caviars and roes pasteurized?
No. Russ & Daughters premier caviars and roes are “malossol,” which means that they freshest, highest grade available on the market; they are preserved with only a little salt, and never pasteurized. All of our caviars and roes are individually hand packed on the premises by our expert team.

This landmark shop started with an Eastern European immigrant selling food to support his family and save up for a pushcart… which turned into a horse & wagon… which eventually turned into a widely acclaimed appetizing shop recognized for its contributions to the historical landscape of New York's Lower East Side.
When Joel Russ opened his shop in 1914, countless New York shops specialized in “appetizing,” best defined as foods that go with bagels. Russ passed the shop on to his daughters in the 1930s, and today it’s run by fourth-generation owners Josh Russ Tupper and Niki Russ Federman. Russ & Daughters is one of the last of its kind, providing tastes and traditions from the Old World out of the same old tenement building on Houston Street.
In the United States, less than one percent of family businesses survive long enough to enter the fourth generation, but Russ & Daughters has bucked the trend. It's a true taste of old New York.
