Honeysuckle & Sweet Tea Cake

Introducing the ultimate Southern confection: Honeysuckle & Sweet Tea Cake. Red Truck Bakery spent three years trying to get this just right, and the reaction has been great. It’s a delicate 6-inch Bundt cake (a little smaller than the usual Bundt cakes), and perfect for tea or a snack in the afternoon, although folks enjoy it at breakfast and for dessert. Red Truck Bakery uses real natural honeysuckle extract to give it a subtle taste, along with hints of orange and lemon zest, black tea, honey, and fresh and crystallized ginger. Choose to have it arrive in a beautiful gift tin!

“Perfectly balanced and the honeysuckle grace note is very there without being perfumy. Altogether really elegant! Children and grownups liked it equally. There isn’t a single factor we would wish to change. Texture, moisture, salt balance: everything is in harmony.” —Matt Lee and Ted Lee, The Lee Bros. Southern Cookbook

Started in a Virginia farmhouse over 30 years ago, Brian Noyes’s Red Truck Bakery is one of Condé Nast Traveler’s 13 Destination Bakeries in America. Named after the red 1954 Ford truck Brian used to deliver his rustic baked goods to local country stores, Red Truck Bakery has gained a cult-like following that includes Oprah and former President Barack Obama—with Roadfood’s Jane & Michael Stern being among some of their loudest and proudest early supporters.

Important: Please add in an extra day for arrival due to unforeseen delays. If you need your order for a Friday or weekend, choose a Thursday delivery date, not Friday.

Red Truck Bakery is one of Condé Nast Traveler’s 13 Destination Bakeries in America. Named after the red 1954 F-100 Ford truck, once owned by designer Tommy Hilfiger, that found its way to rural Virginia and parked itself outside of a new bakery housed in an old Esso filling station, Red Truck Bakery offers high quality goods rooted in a sense of place—crafted with care, inspired by local flavors, and designed to bring people together.

Over the years, Red Truck has gained a cult-like following that includes Oprah and former President Barack Obama—with Roadfood’s Jane & Michael Stern being among some of their loudest and proudest early supporters. Whether you visit them in Virginia or enjoy a special treat from the comfort of your home, you are the heart of the Red Truck Community, and the reason they keep baking.
