Carrot Crumb Loaf Cake - 2 Pack

A moist carrot spiced cake made with freshly grated carrots topped with a crunchy crumb streusel, decorated with a cream cheese glaze.

Porto’s Bakery began in the heart of Cuba, where the scents of founder Rosa Porto’s family’s recipes filled her childhood. Her love for baking blossomed in that aromatic kitchen, leading to her one-of-a-kind cakes being shared with neighbors and friends. From humble beginnings and a dream for a better life, Rosa and her husband, Raul Sr., embarked on a cake-filled adventure. Upon emigrating from Cuba and reaching California, she opened her first storefront on Sunset Boulevard in Echo Park in 1976. What started as a small, home-based operation soon flourished into a beloved bakery. Rosa’s legacy lives on through her children and grandchildren, who, alongside a dedicated team, continue to craft irresistible baked goods and carry forward the cherished Porto’s tradition.

This package serves 12-14 people and includes

  • 2 Carrot Crumb Loaf Cakes
  • 2 Cream Cheese Piping Bags (each 4 oz.)
  • Each loaf cake weighs 1.57 lbs. and measures approx. 8″ × 3.5″ × 2.25″
  • Carrot Crumb Loaf ships frozen with dry ice.
  • Dry ice may dissipate in transit, product may thaw.
  • Do not remove dry ice with bare hands.
  • Upon arrival, store loaf cake in the freezer for up to 40-50 days. A specific use-by date is labeled on each box of pastries.

To Serve

  • Preheat oven to 350° F. While oven is preheating, unwrap the outer plastic wrap and place the frozen Carrot Crumb Loaf in the center of a baking sheet. If the streusel topping shifted during shipping, spread it evenly across the top. Let the piping bag of cream cheese glaze thaw in the refrigerator until ready to use.
  • Place the baking sheet in the middle of the oven. Bake the Carrot Crumb Loaf for 55-65 minutes in a conventional oven, 45-55 minutes for a convection oven. To check if the Carrot Crumb Loaf is done, insert a toothpick in the center of the loaf. Once the toothpick comes out dry with no batter sticking to it; the Carrot Crumb Loaf is baked. Because all ovens vary, check the loaf 5 mins. before the recommended baking time
  • When the Carrot Crumb Loaf is done, remove from oven and allow to cool. Once completely cooled, remove the paper liner by peeling off the folded corners.
  • Cut a 1/4 inch off the tip of the cream cheese glaze piping bag and pipe the glaze across the top of the loaf.
  • Slice and Enjoy!
