To Serve
- Watch this tutorial on how to bake your own bagels or follow the steps below!
- In a large bowl, mix the Dry Active Yeast packet into exactly 1 cup of warm (not hot) water. Allow it to rest for 2 minutes.
- Add the bagel mix to the yeast water mixture and knead with your hands for 5-7 minutes to create the bagel dough.
- Once formed, let your dough rest in the bowl, covered by a damp cloth, for about 10 minutes..
- Preheat your oven to 425℉, and boil a large pot of water.
- Divide the dough into 6 equal pieces, and roll each piece into a thin strip approximately 8 inches in length.
- Roll the strips-of dough into the shape of a bagel.
- Let your bagels rest on a greased surface, covered with your damp cloth, for 20-25 minutes at room temperature.
- Submerge the bagels, a few at a time, in your pot of boiling water for 15-20 seconds.
- After the quick boil, place your bagels on a baking tray with parchment paper.
- Bake your bagels for 22-27 minutes based on your preference, then let the bagels cool for 10 minutes.
- Serve and enjoy!
