Maine Dayboat Scallops - 2 lbs.
Available only in winter, Maine dayboat scallops come straight from the lobstermen on Spruce Head Island’s working wharf — “dayboat” means the boats go out and return the same day, which is what makes the difference in sweetness and texture. McLoons gets them direct off the dock, plump and naturally briny, no chemical treatment. Two pounds from the working wharf Yankee Magazine named home of Maine’s best lobster roll.

South Thomaston, MEWhen Yankee Magazine sent their editor up the Maine coast in early 2017 to sample dozens of lobster rolls and crown one champion, she chose McLoons Lobster Shack. Set against a picturesque harbor backdrop on Spruce Head Island, McLoons' family-owned shack may be a little out of the way for most, but their fresh lobsters and perfect rolls always make up for it. One bite of McLoons' sweet, fresh and meaty lobster on their signature half-and-half roll (half butter, half mayo) will send you licking your lips and saying yesss! Served with coleslaw, chips, a pickle and a side of mayo, warm butter or garlic butter, McLoons is as authentic as it gets. And now you can get a taste of this hidden New England gem right at home!
