Country Ham N' Fixins Box

This mouthwatering half country ham is truly everything you could ask for and more! This set comes with all that you need to make a delicious recipe that will wow friends and family!

The Loveless Cafe has become a Southern landmark thanks to its quaint country charm and good lookin’ cookin’ ever since Lon and Annie Loveless opened its doors in 1951. As a beacon of Tennessee tradition, the Nashville cafe still uses co-founder Annie Loveless’ biscuit recipe that remains unchanged to this day. Sharing a scratch-made meal full of country ham, red eye gravy and Southern fried chicken at the Loveless Cafe is akin to sharing a meal at the Loveless home — without the fight for the last biscuit. Martha Stewart called Loveless’ breakfast the “best breakfast I’ve ever had.”

To Serve

Ham

  • Clean ham with hot water and stiff brush to remove mold. If mold is very heavy, scrape with knife. Ham may be soaked in water overnight to help reduce salty taste.
  • Cut off about 3 inches of hock. Hock may be used for seasoning when cooking other foods.
  • Weigh the ham in order to calculate cooking time.
  • Rub ham in spices or score with whole cloves, and then cover with brown sugar or pure honey.
  • Place ham in aluminum foil in cooking vessel. Inside the foil, pour one-quart water, ginger ale or other liquid around the ham. Crimp foil tight with double fold and bake 30 minutes per pound at 250°F or until center of ham registers 170°F on a meat thermometer.
  • Take out of oven and leave in foil until cooled to room temperature.
  • Discard liquid at the end of baking period.
  • Remove the skin (easier while warm). Ham may be glazed after removing skin.
  • Coat with Peach Glaze (instructions below).
  • Place back in moderately hot (400°F) oven just long enough to get golden brown, approx. 15 minutes.

Peach Peach Glaze

  • Combine 1/4 cup Loveless Cafe Peach Preserves, 1/2 tablespoon Loveless Cafe Honey, 1/8 Teaspoon of Ground Clove, and 1/4 teaspoon Loveless Cafe Peach-B-Q Rub.
