In 2010, World Baking Champion Pierre Zimmermann closed his 118-year-old family bakery in France’s Alsace region to establish a foothold in the US, opening La Fournette in the heart of Chicago’s Old Town neighborhood in 2012. The artisan French bakery’s macarons are all-natural, wholesome, completely delicious, and gluten-free. La Fournette has been featured in the Chicago Tribune (“A Slice of Heaven”) and Master Baker Pierre Zimmermann has won the Coupe du Monde de la Boulangerie (World Cup of Baking) twice — once as a team member, once as a coach.
