Sate Ayam Chicken Skewers
Ships Nationwide in U.S.
Not eligible for shipping to CanadaExperience the heart of Indonesia with Krakatoa’s Sate Ayam, a platter of mouthwatering chicken skewers marinated in a blend of aromatic spices. The chicken is tenderized in a fragrant mixture of coriander, cumin, turmeric, garlic, and a touch of sweet soy sauce, allowing the bold flavors to infuse every piece. After marinating, the chicken is threaded onto skewers and grilled over open flames, where the high heat caramelizes the marinade, creating a smoky, slightly charred exterior while keeping the meat inside juicy and succulent. Each skewer is served alongside rich & creamy signature homemade peanut sauce, which has a perfect balance of sweetness, saltiness, and a hint of spice.
Krakatoa is Chef Abe Moiz’s love letter to his native Indonesia. Growing up, Abe’s home was filled with the aromas of his mother’s cooking. But once he moved to the U.S., he soon realized that the beloved flavors of his youth were impossible to find, and he couldn’t even replicate them because many traditional Indonesian ingredients – like fresh candlenut, galangal, and kaffir lime leaves – were also unavailable. So he began importing (and in the case of kaffir lime leaves, growing) them on his own, and opened Krakatoa, which proved so successful that Guy Fieri paid a visit for an episode of “Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives.” Countless diners have since fallen in love with Krakatoa’s authentic, heartfelt traditional Indonesian cuisine – and now you can, too.
