Some restrictions applyKenny & Ziggy’s Delicatessen ships its famous Jewish deli specialties nationwide on Goldbelly! When a knish craving hits, there’s no better way to satisfy it than with one of these massive stuffed renditions. Handmade, crispy, and loaded with tasty fillings, knishes don’t get much better than this! Made with a filling of mashed Yukon gold potatoes, onions, and garlic that are surrounded by a flaky puff pastry, it’s the ultimate comfort food. While many people eat knishes with deli mustard or sour cream, Kenny & Ziggy’s are equally enjoyable on their own.
From a third-generation New York Deli owner, Kenny & Ziggy’s is not only the top deli in Texas but also one of the best delis in America. In the early 1900s, Max Gruber (Ziggy’s grandfather) left Budapest, Hungary, on a bicycle. He pedaled his way across Europe to the Atlantic coast and eventually sailed for the United States, ending up on New York’s Lower East Side. In 1927, he and his brothers-in-law Morris and Izzy Rappaport opened the first Jewish deli on Broadway! Generations later, Houston businessman Lenny Friedman convinced Ziggy Gruber, who ran successful Jewish delis in New York and Los Angeles, that Houston needed an authentic deli of its own. The rest is delicious history.

Houston's Haven for Homesick New Yorkers

In the early 1900s, Max Gruber left Budapest, Hungary on a bicycle. He pedaled his way across Europe to the Atlantic coast and eventually sailed for the United States, ending up in New York’s lower east side. In 1927, he and his brothers-in-law Morris and Izzy Rappaport opened the first Jewish deli on Broadway, The Rialto.
Today, three generations later, Max’s grandson Ziggy Gruber continues the family tradition as Chef/Owner of Houston’s most authentic New York delicatessen. After learning the business side-by-side with his father and grandfather starting as a young boy, Ziggy graduated from Le Cordon Bleu in London and trained in a three-Michelin star London restaurant before operating delis of his own in New York and Los Angeles and opening Kenny & Ziggy’s in 2000. The rest is delicious history! Kenny & Ziggy’s has gone on to become not only the deli star of the Lone Star State but acclaimed as one of the top delis in the nation. And now, you can enjoy Kenny & Ziggy’s deli goodness anywhere in the U.S. via Goldbelly!
