Kenny & Ziggy’s is not only the top Jewish deli in Texas, but also one of the best delis in America. In the early 1900s, Max Gruber (Ziggy’s grandfather) left Budapest, Hungary, on a bicycle. He pedaled his way across Europe to the Atlantic coast and eventually sailed for the United States, ending up on New York’s Lower East Side. In 1927, he and his brothers-in-law Morris and Izzy Rappaport opened the first Jewish deli on Broadway! Two generations later, Houston businessman Lenny Friedman convinced third-generation deli man Ziggy Gruber that Houston needed an authentic Jewish deli of its own (Ziggy ran successful delis in New York and Los Angeles). The rest is delicious history.

- May be stored in the freezer for up to 2 months and stored at room temperature for up to 4 days.
To Serve
- Preheat oven to 400℉.
- Spread the frozen bagels out on a cookie sheet. Leave them at room temperature for 30 minutes. It’s okay if they’re a little frozen.
- Place them in the oven for 6-8 minutes.
- Serve and enjoy your fresh, crispy, chewy bagels!

After learning the business side-by-side with his father and grandfather starting as a young boy, Ziggy graduated from Le Cordon Bleu in London and trained in a three-Michelin star London restaurant before operating delis of his own in New York and Los Angeles and opening Kenny & Ziggy’s in 2000. The rest is delicious history! Kenny & Ziggy’s has gone on to become not only the deli star of the Lone Star State but acclaimed as one of the top delis in the nation.
