"The Great Pumpkin" Ice Cream Cake

This ice cream cake is one layer of vanilla cake, topped with a layer of Tahitian Vanilla Ice Cream and a layer of Pumpkin Galette Ice Cream – a spiced pumpkin ice cream with layers of brown butter caramel and swirled with tart pieces. Finished with a topping of house-made cornflake cookie crumble.

Since opening in San Francisco in 2008, Humphry Slocombe Ice Cream has been producing creatively delicious ice cream that some believe is the very best in America. The company is named after two lead characters from the 1970’s British sitcom “Are You Being Served?” but their ice cream is the star of the show. Founders Jake Godby and Sean Vahey make artisanal ice cream in innovative flavors with clever names like Here’s Your Damn Strawberry, Tahitian V*n!ll@, and Secret Breakfast, a bourbon-infused ice cream with ground corn flakes.

This package includes your choice of a 6" or 9" “The Great Pumpkin” Ice Cream Cake

  • Each 6" cake serves 6-8 people and weighs approx. 2.2 lbs.
  • Each 9" cake serves 8-12 people and weighs approx. 4.5 lbs.
  • Ice cream cakes are carefully packed in an insulated shipping box with enough dry ice to keep the contents perfectly frozen. Don’t worry, it’s colder inside that box than it is in your freezer.
  • Upon receipt, please place cake in the freezer.
  • Wrapped cake may be stored in the freezer for up to 3 months.
  • Slice any leftovers and freeze in portions.

To Store

  • Let the Ice Cream Cake thaw for 10-15 minutes.
  • Dip the knife in hot water.
  • Wipe the knife dry before cutting.
  • Cut serve and repeat!

"Why all of the unusual flavors?" It's a question often posed to Humphry Slocombe founders Jake Godby and Sean Vahey, but in their opinion (and we wholeheartedly agree with it) they're not all that unusual. Sure there's Olive Oil and Carrot Mango Sorbet, however Strawberry, Vanilla and Coffee are also standard offerings. But, as the names can attest, these flavors are anything but standard: 'Here's Your Damn Strawberry,' 'Tahitian V*n!ll@,' and "Vietnamese Coffee" grab your attention as much as the flavors from that first spoonful. Oh, did we also mention their 'Secret Breakfast?' It's a bourbon infused ice cream loaded with ground corn flakes many have called the best tasting ice cream ever. It's so good that anyone who has ever tasted will fully understand if it becomes the cornerstone of your well balanced breakfast; it certainly has for us.
