NOLA’s Legendary Hand Pies, Since 1921

Ask any New Orleans native what their favorite little hand pies are, and there’s about a 100-percent chance they’ll tell you it’s Hubig’s. Opened on Dauphine Street in 1921 by Simon Hubig, Hubig’s quickly became a local icon not only thanks to its flaky, delicious, irresistible little turnovers with a wide variety of fillings, but also because of the company’s generous involvement with local charities.
In 2012, a fire completely destroyed the factory, devastating its millions of devoted fans. But owner Andrew Ramsey vowed to rebuild, and 10 long years later Hubig’s pies finally returned to the shelves, made exactly as they were 100 years earlier: a hot-water crust folded over sweet scratchmade filling, deep-fried to golden brown, and glazed with icing. Hubig’s pies is as NOLA as it gets, and now they’re shipping nationwide!
