Ask any New Orleans native what their favorite little hand pies are, and there’s about a 100-percent chance they’ll tell you it’s Hubig’s. Opened on Dauphine Street in 1921 by Simon Hubig, Hubig’s flaky, delicious, irresistible little turnovers quickly became a local icon. In 2012, a fire completely destroyed the factory, devastating its millions of devoted fans. But owner Andrew Ramsey vowed to rebuild, and 10 long years later Hubig’s pies finally returned to the shelves, made exactly as they were 100 years earlier. Hubig’s pies is as NOLA as it gets, and now they’re shipping nationwide!
