"Few Miles South" Kentucky Gift Box

Holly Hill’s Few Miles South Bluegrass Gift Box is named for its centerpiece: Chef Ouita Michel’s cookbook of the same name, “Just a Few Miles South”, a tasty collection of “timeless recipes from our favorite places.” It also includes their Bouquet Garni apron designed in Louisville by the Anchal Project, Tipper Valley Farm’s 100% goat’s milk dish soap paired with a pottery soap rest handmade by the students at Lexington’s Matchstick Goods, a canister of Cup of Serenity Tea, a hand-thrown Bouquet Garni mug to sip your cuppa out of, and a sweet little wooden spoon to stir it with. And finally – just because – they tucked in a limited edition brass Holly Hill Inn ornament.

In 2000, chefs Chris and Ouita Michel purchased the Holly Hill Inn, in the heart of Kentucky Bluegrass Country, from the family that had owned the property for generations. The couple spent a year converting the 1845 mansion into a fine dining restaurant, with a seasonal prix fixe menu featuring Kentucky-sourced ingredients. Holly Hill has become recognized as one of the finest restaurants in the South, earning several James Beard nominations and renowned for cuisine that showcases Kentucky’s local bounty.
