It has this sweet ribbon of brown sugar, nutmeg, cinnamon and toasted pecans that swirls through the middle of the cake. This cake is topped with our delicious cream cheese glaze. Each bite is Thanksgiving in your mouth.
Detroit native April Anderson knew that she wanted to be a baker by the age of 9, and in 2013 she teamed up with her wife Michelle and opened Good Cakes & Bakes in Detroit. Good Cakes & Bakes uses only the freshest natural ingredients, including locally-grown produce, in the Michigan bakery’s wholesome, organic Southern-inspired baked goods. Locals have fallen in love with Anderson’s world-class signature lemon velvet, red velvet, and vegan carrot cakes. April Anderson has been featured as a “Changemaker Chef to Watch” by the James Beard Foundation and has baked for Oprah Winfrey.
This cake is seasonal and ships from October through March.

- Cakes ship frozen with ice packs in the summer, and ship ready to enjoy in the winter.
- Ice packs may thaw during transit, product may thaw (if cake arrives defrosted, it is safe to enjoy as is).
- Upon arrival, store cakes at room temperature, in the refrigerator, or in the freezer.
- Cakes last up to 3 days at room temperature, up to 1 week in the refrigerator, or up to 3 months in the freezer.
