Jumbo Lump Crab Cakes + Crab Soup
96%Read ReviewsHeat & Eat
Two Chesapeake classics from Faidley’s, the Baltimore crab authority at Lexington Market since 1886: the jumbo lump crab cake, bound with barely more than saltines, mustard, and Old Bay so the sweet blue crab leads, plus a quart of the made-to-order Maryland crab soup, tomato-based and vegetable-packed. It takes a whole bushel of crabs to yield a pound of the jumbo lump, hand-formed and baked golden. The family-owned market institution was named one of Smithsonian’s 20 most iconic food destinations in America. Perfect for a Maryland seafood dinner, a taste of Baltimore shipped anywhere, or a crab lover who wants the cake and the soup.

Maryland's Most Legendary Crab Cake Since 1886
Maryland's Most Legendary Crab Cake Since 1886

Located at the historic Lexington Market, Faidley’s Seafood is consistently cited as the place to visit if you only have one day in Baltimore. This fifth generation family-owned restaurant was founded in 1886, making it one of the oldest purveyors of wild caught seafood on the East Coast. Best known for their award-winning jumbo lump blue crab cakes, Faidley’s makes each succulent cake by hand daily with sweet crab and little else. These beauties are so quintessential Baltimore, they snagged a cameo appearance in Sleepless in Seattle, the classic ’90s flick about man, woman and a mighty fine crab cake.
It’s the classic love triangle.
