Authentic Chicago Pizza, By Way of NYC

Emmett's Chicago-style pizza has taken New York by storm, and has been featured by Time Out New York, Grub Street, and YouTube's Food Skills show for its trendy Chicago-style pies. In 2018, Refinery29 named Emmett's one of the best pizzas in New York.

Authentic Chicago Pizza, By Way of NYC

New York might not be a place where you’d expect to find authentic Chicago-style pizza, but thanks to Emmett’s, East Coasters are learning that the Windy City is more than just a deep-dish town. When Chicago native Emmett Burke came to New York to attend Fordham University, he realized that there was no great Chicago pizza to be found, so in 2013 he set about changing that by opening Emmett’s in Greenwich Village, specializing in both of Chicago’s main pizza styles: deep-dish and thin-crust, tavern-style “bar pies.”

Emmett’s pizzas are truly artisanal, made with only the highest-quality available local ingredients. His party-cut thin-crust pizzas are topped with a perfectly-balanced marinara sauce, a blend of mozzarella cheeses, and other creative toppings like housemade paprika ranch, and these crisp, cheesy beauties pair perfectly with an ice cold beer.
