Dutch Monkey Doughnuts was one of five businesses (of 50,000 entries) to win American Express and Facebook’s Big Break for Small Business competition in 2012, and won the first episode of Food Network’s Doughnut Showdown in 2013.

For owners Martin and Arpana, it’s all about making the best doughnut ever--and their backgrounds certainly help. Martin spent most of his career at Gotham Bar and Grill in New York, while his wife, Arpana, has a resume that includes big names like Bobby Flay’s Mesa Grill and Tom Colicchio’s Craft.
