Established in 1943 by Olympic heavyweight boxing champion Leon Lucas, Donkey’s Place serves what Anthony Bourdain considered America’s best cheesesteak — found not in Philly but just across the river in Camden, New Jersey! The New Jersey-style cheesesteak sandwich is served on a round poppyseed Kaiser roll, with American cheese, thin-sliced steak, and browned onions. Donkey’s Place has been featured on Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown and on Food Network’s list of “The Best Cheesesteaks in Philadelphia.”

This package serves 4-6 people and includes:

  • 4 Poppyseed Kaiser Rolls
  • 8 slices of White American Cheese
  • 4 packs of Sizzled Meat
  • 1 pack of Carmelized Onions
  • 1 container of Hot Peppers
  • Choose to add on fries!

  • Donkey’s Place Cheesesteaks ship with ice packs, ice packs may thaw in transit
  • Refrigerate all ingredients except the rolls upon arrival, may be kept refrigerated for up to 3 days
  • Rolls should be kept at room temperature

To Serve

  • Slice each Kaiser Roll in half and place a slice of American cheese on the bottom half
  • Remove meat and onions from their pouches and heat in a pan over medium heat until hot
  • Place the meat and onions on each roll and top with another slice of cheese
  • Serve and enjoy! If you would like, add hot peppers to your cheesesteak
