Gilmer, TX
Doc's Hot Links is a historic eatery beloved by residents of East Texas since its founding in 1969. That was the year Doc Henderson purchased a roadside hot link stand in the hopes of making a good living for his family and half a century later, not much else has changed. To this day, it's the only hot link stand remaining in Gilmer, Texas and people from all over the world make special trips to get this unique style of sausage. With fewer and fewer spots left serving East Texas Hot Links, the owners of Doc's Hot Links have one goal, to keep this tradition alive. As Floyd Henderson, Doc's son, has said: "It would be a sad day in Gilmer when you can't come down here and get some Hot Links." Doc's is doing their part to ensure that not only will you always be able to get some in East Texas, but also now, for the first time ever, nationwide.
